We don’t just sell wool, we grow wool.

We work with our sheep all year round and know exactly what goes into growing their glorious fleece. Our products don’t start with wool, they start with good animal management, love & care.

We typically maintain a flock of approximately 1400 female sheep on our farm. These lovely ladies undergo shearing sessions twice a year, ensuring an abundant supply of high-quality wool for all your crafting needs.

Wool is a natural, renewable, and sustainable fibre, being able to completely break down and return to the Earth.

As a natural product, choosing the right wool mat to suit your needs is essential. The thickness of wool weed mats significantly affects their degradation rate—thicker mats take longer for soil microbes to break down compared to thinner ones. This thickness is measured and indicated by the GSM (grams per square meter).

Biodegradable

At the end of its life, wool can be returned to the soil and will degrade in a few months releasing nutrients into the ecosystem. Because wool biodegrades fully, using wool reduces the impact on the world’s landfills.

Wool is the ultimate renewable resource. Every year sheep grow a glorious new fleece which must be shorn for the health and hygiene of the animal.

  • Unlike plastics, wool does not release microplastics into our oceans and seas meaning it is safe for our waterways and aquatic wildlife.

  • Small pores in the wool fibre absorb certain pollutants from the air creating healthier indoor air.

  • Sheep don’t get sunburnt because their wool is a natural sunscreen. When you wear wool you’ll have protection too.

  • Wool is less flammable than synthetics and does not melt. Also, wool produces less smoke which is less toxic.

  • Wool fibre absorbs water vapour decreasing humidity, condensation and mould growth in the home.

  • Wool clothes smell less! Tiny pores in the cuticle of wool traps vapour from sweat, wicking away moisture which decreases odour-causing bacteria.

  • The make-up of wool fibre is such that it keeps you cosy and warm in cool weather, and nice and cool in the heat.

  • Wool locks away moisture within the pores of the fibre which keeps the fabric dryer. This, in turn, keeps you warmer.
